Birmingham Public Library Spotlights Baseball History

The Birmingham Public Library is hosting the traveling exhibition, Pride And Passion: The African-American Baseball Experience, through June 11, and will be holding an opening reception tomorrow evening, Thursday, May 6, at 6:30 pm.

The Friends of Rickwood are proud to partner with the BPL as part of the overall Rickwood Centennial project.  F.O.R.  members Clarence Watkins and Lamar Smith have contributed both energy and expertise, as well as artifacts from their personal collections, while our Chattanooga colleague, Dan Creed, has also loaned major exhibit components to the BPL.

Please visit the BPL’s Pride and Passion website to learn more about the exhibit and the associated activities, including author presentations and book signings, guest speakers, and baseball film viewings.
