Rickwood Sustains Wind Damage in April 27 Tornadoes
As most everyone is aware, communities across the state of Alabama and the southeastern region suffered extensive damage in the April 27 tornadoes. As an organization and as individuals, our hearts go out to those who are suffering. The devastation in certain areas of our state is simply inconceivable. Those of us whose homes and families remain intact have much to be thankful for.
While the western side of Birmingham and Jefferson County has been damaged extensively, I am pleased to report that Rickwood suffered only wind damage to the outfield wall, as well as the field being littered with trash and debris.
Please see images below. Although it is difficult to see in the photos, both RF and LF wall sections are leaning and will have to be straightened. The debris on the field is primarily small pieces, and are also difficult to see in these shots.
